Description from the seller

Rega Radio (Radio R) audiophile AM/FM stereo tuner in black, hand-built in Southend-on-Sea, Essex (United Kingdom) by Rega Research (circa late 1990s / early 2000s). Technically in 100% good, functional condition with stable transmitter lock and interference-free reception; visually in neat condition with light signs of use commensurate with age.
The Radio (often referred to as Radio R owing to the remote-control architecture) is housed in Rega’s legendary three-part cast aluminum 'clamshell' enclosure with the characteristic curved top plate. This heavy, solid chassis eliminates mechanical resonances and provides excellent shielding against external radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic fields. True to the minimalist British audio philosophy, there are no superfluous digital bells and whistles; every component in the signal path is selected for maximum musical purity.
Sonically, the Radio offers, for a tuner, a rare warmth, naturality and dynamics with a notably quiet background. The analog signal chain is discreetly built with high-quality components, resulting in a holographic stereo image, rounded vocal reproduction and refined highs without digital grain. Operation is clean and intuitive via the red LED display and the minimalist push-buttons on the front panel for station selection, tuning mode and preset stations.
