Description from the seller
Rega Brio 3 audiophile integrated stereo amplifier in silver finish, hand-built in Southend-on-Sea, Essex (United Kingdom) by Rega Research (circa 2007–2011). Technically in 100% perfectly functioning condition with crack-free potentiometers and switches; visually in neat condition with light signs of use appropriate to age.
Within Rega's amplifier history, the Brio 3 is regarded as one of the most beloved incarnations of the British brand. In this third generation, Rega moved to the slim, modern 'full-width' aluminium chassis, with a minimalist design at its core: no tone controls, balance knob, or superfluous electronics that could cloud the audio signal, but a very short and direct signal path. Internally, the Brio 3 uses a heavy toroidal transformer with ample current reserve and a high-quality Sanken complementary bipolar output stage, which gives the amplifier considerably more control and dynamic punch than its modest specifications on paper would suggest.
Sonically, the Brio 3 excels in musicality, timing, and rhythmic drive (PRaT: Pace, Rhythm and Timing). The stereo image is open, direct, and engaging, with a smooth midrange that places voices and acoustic instruments exceptionally naturally, combined with tight, melodic bass control. For vinyl enthusiasts, the Brio 3 features a legendary good, low-noise Moving Magnet (MM) phono stage, directly derived from Rega's renowned standalone phono stages. On the rear are solid gold-plated RCA inputs and sturdy speaker terminals.
