Description from the seller

Solid bimetallic silver-bronze pendant with a Sardonyx carnelian intaglio - Vulture motif with ancient characters - Historic and dynastic style.
Spectacular and exclusive heraldic pendant of great robustness, entirely handmade, combining solid silver and bronze.
Due to its typology, weight, and design, the piece faithfully follows the aesthetics and standards of Near Eastern glyptic art and ancient Persia (Sassanian Period).
Year 224 BCE (3rd century BCE)
Year 641 CE (8th century)
A unique object with an imposing weight of approximately 40–50 grams of noble metal.

High-quality body with a truncated pyramid base in sterling silver, decorated on its inclined sides with deep, hand-chiseled geometric engravings. The upper setting is reinforced with a solid bronze frame in a golden tone, creating an elegant bi-metallic contrast that highlights the central gem.
Elliptical, completely flat plate of natural carnelian, excellent, with a deep, opaque blood-red color. It bears an intaglio (recessed engraving) of a profile vulture surrounded by ancient characters.
The entire surface and the metal edges show very slight, dull wear, testimony to its age and daily use.
The reverse of the silver is smooth and has two strong cylindrical loops soldered horizontally by fire.
The pendant adapts perfectly to the contour of the neck, remaining fully balanced and stable when worn thanks to its excellent weight distribution.
Dimensions: overall width 3.5 cm and approximate thickness 1.5 cm.
Comes from a private collection.
The chain is not included in the lot.
Shipped by insured mail according to its value.
Please be responsible with your bids and check shipping costs.
This is not an ordinary piece.
