Rare vintage beyerdynamic DT 100 professional headphones, 2×400 Ω, complete with original box and original cable.
This is an early vintage version of the iconic beyerdynamic DT 100, one of the company’s most enduring professional monitoring headphones.
The headphones are marked DT 100, 2×400 Ω and Made in Germany, and feature the characteristic early white/grey housing, metal headband adjustment and original-style multi-pin cable connection.
The headphones are accompanied by their original cardboard packaging, marked:

The exact production year could not be established because no readable serial number is present. I contacted beyerdynamic directly regarding this particular pair. Their historical department confirmed that, without a serial number, the exact age cannot be determined, but also stated that they believe this pair may predate their available serial-number records.
The physical characteristics, 2×400 Ω configuration, construction and original packaging are consistent with an early generation DT 100, likely dating from the late 1960s or early 1970s. The exact year is therefore intentionally left unspecified.
The original internal construction and aged foam have been preserved. No aggressive restoration has been carried out, in order to retain the historical character of the headphones.
Condition
The headphones are in vintage condition, with signs of age and use consistent with their period. The housing shows some cosmetic wear. The original foam and earpads show aging, as visible in the photographs.
