Large commemorative medal issued by Edel Collecties in 2022, dedicated to Paleis Soestdijk in Baarn and its connection with the Dutch Royal House.
Obverse:
Detailed frontal view of Paleis Soestdijk, with the palace façade, terraces and garden elements. A flag flies from the roof, while a large ornamental urn appears at right and foliage extends into the upper field.
Inscription:

The architectural details are rendered in contrasting silver-coloured relief against the dark ruthenium-effect background.
Reverse:
A large crowned shield containing seven portrait busts, arranged around a central portrait. The portraits refer to members of the Dutch Royal House. Rectangular decorative elements appear behind the shield.

Paleis Soestdijk has been closely connected with the House of Orange for centuries. Stadtholder William III acquired the estate in 1674. After 1815 it was transformed into a summer palace for the future King William II and Anna Pavlovna. From 1937 it became the home of Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard, and after Juliana became queen in 1948, Soestdijk served as the royal residence.
