Cleoniceras sp., a natural polished ammonite from Madagascar of the Lower Cretaceous (about 145–100.5 million years ago), with exposed suture patterns, weighing 700 g and measuring 16 cm high, 13.5 cm wide and 3.5 cm deep, authentic/original.
Description from the seller
Polished Cleoniceras Ammonite with Exposed Suture Patterns
A decorative Cleoniceras sp. ammonite with a polished surface that reveals an intricate network of pale, branching suture patterns. Cream and ivory outlines contrast with warm honey, amber and deep brown tones, while darker grey areas accent the centre of the spiral and the worked opening.
Both faces display the tightly coiled form and densely patterned surface. Broad radial contours give the outer whorl a sculptural appearance, and the prepared aperture has an irregular, deeply recessed edge that exposes further details of the fossil. Close-up photographs show the polished finish, variations in colour and texture, and the contours of the opening.
The specimen is photographed on a clear display stand. Its contrasting colours and elaborate patterns make it an attractive piece for a fossil collection or natural history display.
Please examine all photographs carefully for the exact appearance, preparation and condition of this individual specimen. The photographs form an integral part of the description.
