Some extracts from the German specialized magazine in December 2005 /
"The Special Edition cost 900 marks more than the base version, but it allowed a meteoric rise in the magazine’s ranking......"
"There is a world of difference between the ordinary CD-63 and the Special Edition, and a kilo and a half more"
"The resolution, in particular, has considerably improved. Even at high dynamic ranges, the SE shows exceptional precision and richness"

In short, a well-born player and still very competitive compared to newer equipment.
