Magnificent large sculpture of Christ the King / Sacred Heart enthroned with a Gothic throne - Hand-molded and polychromed wood paste and glass eyes (Olot, c.1940–1950)

Notable and complex work of religious imagery emerging from the prestigious Olot workshops, depicting Christ enthroned as King of the Universe. The Lord appears seated on a magnificent Neo-Gothic seat presided over by the sacred monogram IHS, holding the terrestrial globe and displaying the Sacred Heart, with the royal crown resting at his feet.

Artistic Details: Made of hand-m molded and polychromed wood paste with pastel tones and subtle gilding on the garments and the frontal area. Incorporates glass eyes that add great depth and expressiveness to the face. The origin seal is burned onto the base.

Dimensions: 44 cm high x 21 cm wide x 20 cm deep.

Good overall condition, with the original period patina, minor wear consistent with age on the gilding in the friction areas that attest to its age and authenticity; it presents the loss of 3 fingers of the right hand (see images, part of the description).
