Splendid pair of Bowers & Wilkins DM12, among the most appreciated and sought-after compact loudspeakers (mini monitors) from the glorious British hi-fi tradition. This is a model famous for its extraordinary frequency response, natural midrange, and a timbral transparency comparable to the BBC studio monitors.
The lot includes the hard-to-find original B&W stands from the era, custom-designed to elevate the speakers to the ideal listening height and to fully enhance their acoustic and aesthetic performance.
CONDITIONS AND RESTORATION WORK
Wooden cabinet: Subjected to careful conservative carpentry restoration. The natural wood has been cleaned and hand-nourished with straw-colored oil to bring out the original grain, and minor imperfections eliminated by precise wax-based filling.
Acoustic components: 26 mm fabric-dome tweeters and 150 mm Bextrene mid/woofers in excellent cosmetic and functional condition. Soft surrounds are clean and well preserved.
Tests: The speakers have been thoroughly tested with fully positive results: balanced, detailed sound with no distortion.
Transparency note: The APOC automatic protection circuit is fully operational to protect the drivers. The single visual indicator LED does not illuminate—an aesthetic detail common on this vintage model that does not affect sound quality, transparency, or electrical safety of the speaker.
