AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Pair of Gouda vases – Gouda Holland – model 666 “Nieuw Porselein” – 1921 – Maria Nieuwenhuis.

Magnificent pair of Gouda vases, manufactured at Gouda Holland and finished in the refined NP-decor (“Nieuw Porselein”), model 666. The vases date from 1921 and are clearly marked on the bottom with NP, Gouda Holland, model number 666 and the painter's initials MN, for Maria Nieuwenhuis.

The two vases form a nicely mirrored pair and are richly hand-painted with an elegant floral decor. The design consists of climbing green stems and leaves, large stylized flowers in soft blue, yellow and orange and decorative berry motifs. The refined brushwork and the use of subtle colors give the pair a particularly elegant appearance.

The special form with the two large openwork handles gives the vases a pronounced decorative character. The combination of the light background, the colorful floral decor and the symmetrical execution makes this a very attractive pair for collectors of Dutch Delftware.
