Belgium – Albert I – Lot of 12 coins of 5 and 10 francs – 1930–1934
Collection of twelve Belgian nickel coins from the reign of Albert I. The lot includes the complete year series of the 5 francs / 1 Belga in the French and Dutch versions, supplemented by three commemorative 10-franc coins from 1930.
Composition:
5 francs / 1 Belga, Francophone: 1930, 1931, 1932, 1933 and 1934. Five coins.
5 francs / 1 Belga, Dutch-speaking: 1930, 1931, 1932 and 1933. Four coins.
10 francs / 2 Belga, 1930: two Francophone and one Dutch-speaking specimen. Three coins.
The 5-franc pieces feature the portrait of Albert I. On the reverse, the value and the year are shown within a crowned wreath of oak and laurel branches. All nine combinations of year and language of this type are represented; edge and mint-mark variants are not considered here.
The 10-franc pieces commemorate one hundred years of Belgian independence, 1830–1930. They show the portraits of Leopold I, Leopold II and Albert I.
