Cassina - Mario Bellini - Chair (4) - Cab 412 first series - Leather - First series 1977

This specific lot belongs to the highly sought-after FIRST SERIES of production, characterized by the vintage stamp impressed in the leather beneath the seat ("X 1 Cassina").

The Cab model was the first example in the world of a chair with a freestanding leather structure mounted on a steel core, inspired by the relationship between skeleton and skin.

The chairs are presented in exceptionally good conservational condition for their era: the leather is dense, well hydrated, and retains its natural softness. The typical hinges along the legs and the perimeter stitching are solid and perfectly intact.
