Derrière le Miroir (DLM) was an art magazine that was published by the French publisher and gallerist Aimé Maeght and the Maeght Gallery, which for many years was the world’s leading gallery for contemporary art, from 1946 to 1982. The magazine was designed as an art object, presented in a large format (11" x 15"). It is illustrated with original lithographs as well as reproductions. Most of the great artists of the second half of the twentieth century created lithographs for DLM: Léger, Miro, Calder, Tapies, Chillida, Braque, Matisse, Giacometti and especially Chagall.

The edition of Behind The Mirror, DLM, accompanied every Maeght Gallery exhibition from 1946 to 1982. DLM, as it has been published for over thirty-five years, arose from Aimé Maeght’s passion to edit and press. DLM was sent individually to subscribers (which, from almost the beginning, seemed to include books and museums) and to the gallery’s collectors.
