Description from the seller
Bressolles Louis — "Récif"
Collection "Naufrage" — 2026 · unique piece
And if this mirror were the vestige of treasure found at the bottom of the ocean?
Born in Arcachon, Louis Bressolles draws on his childhood between the ocean, pirate stories and treasure hunts to create works that resemble sunken relics. He transforms gathered and recycled materials into objects charged with history.
With "Récif", the oxidized mirror seems to have traversed time and the depths. Shells, coral, a real starfish, wood and chromed materials compose a mysterious marine landscape, like fragments of an forgotten civilization.
Between sculpture, mirror and archaeological object, the work evokes the ruins of an underwater world, somewhere between reality and imagination. When the viewer reflects in it, they in turn become part of this sunken landscape.
A unique piece, at once spectacular and poetic, that turns a simple reflection into a voyage to the depths.
Dimensions: 76 × 60 × 10 cm
Materials: oxidized mirror, collected shells, real starfish, coral, thermo-fusible plastic, chrome ink, wood.
