kozo - Action figure Umeboshi denka - 1960-1970 - Japan

This is a vintage figurine of the character Denka (§›J), from the manga and anime "Umeboshi Denka" (Umeboshi Denka, often translated as "Prince of Prunes" or "Prince Ume Star").

Origin and Creator: This character was created by Fujiko F. Fujio, the famous mangaka behind Doraemon. The series was published in Shogakukan magazines (小学館) from 1968 to 1970. This is a sofubi, a soft vinyl toy, typical of Japanese productions from the Showa era (1970s–1980s).

The marking under the feet is the manufacturer’s inscription. The word kozō means "little monk" (little animated monk).

This figurine is more precisely a pendant or keychain, as evidenced by the metal ring attached to the head.

Very rare Japanese figurine.
