Rare original Pedestal Standing Ashtray, designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International in a Mid-Century Modern Space Age style, in white tulip base with satin aluminum bowl and protective lacquered finish, dimensions 55 cm high, 33 cm wide and 33 cm deep, weighing 4 kg, made in Italy from aluminum, steel and cast iron, dating to 1960–1970 and in excellent condition.

Rarest and iconic floor ashtray "Pedestal" original Mid-Century Modern and Space Age, designed by the renowned architect Eero Saarinen for Knoll International (Pedestal Group collection).
The top bowl in satin aluminum shows small calcium residue spots and rust marks from the iron mesh that was laid on it, solvable with proper treatments. The famous tulip base in white lacquered aluminum is well preserved and retains its vintage-era luster. Under the heavy anti-tip base are clearly embossed in relief in the alloy the original factory marks of the series ("BR 50" / Knoll trademark), partially covered by the era's protective paint layers. The piece is complete with its original metal mesh grille, a fundamental component.
