Description from the seller

Magnificent Catholic chapelet (rosary) from the late 19th century, complete and in exceptionally preserved condition. This devotional object blends the know-how of high French jewelry making with a sober and elegant aesthetic, typical of its period of manufacture.
It bears numerous hallmarks I have not managed to decipher, except two on the Ultra cross and probably double for those on the medallion; one reads Oria on one and ??? on the other.
The Heart (central medal): A profile of great finesse representing the Blessed Virgin Mary veiled (Virgin with the veil), with a satin/matte finish in the background.
The Crucifix: An austere geometrical cross with straight, flat lines, edged with a delicately beaded border, bearing Christ in relief.
It also features superb faceted glass beads shaped as ovals, molded-pressed and dyed through and through. The beads display a beautiful marbled/jaspé effect with subtle hues (amber, topaz, and beige), perfectly imitating natural stones or ancient amber. The presence of micro air bubbles inside the glass confirms artisanal manufacture of the period.
A marvel that will be delivered to you in the small box in which I acquired it.
As with all my items put up for auction on this site, this wonder has undergone no cleaning (only dusting) nor modification since purchase.
Happy bidding to all.
Please look closely at the photos which are part of the description. Any damage not mentioned in the text but visible in the photos is considered as described.
No shipping outside the EU. If you are outside the European Union, you may bid on one of my lots however no claim will be possible in case of problems during transport. Given the new import/export regulations to the USA there will be no shipment to this country.
Carefully professional shipment, with signature and insurance.

Seller's Story

Passionate about flea markets, and antiques of all kinds since my childhood, I was already selling on this site as an individual, the joy and kindness of the buyers made me understand that it was the right time to get started in my small business, I pay particular attention to the lots offered in order to be able to satisfy you, all my objects benefit from a very light cleaning and no restoration so that you can judge for yourself their quality and condition, so good auction to all and see you soon I hope
