Pipistrello has been produced by Martinelli Luce for 50 years and is still today an icon of Italian design.
The Pipistrello lamp was designed by Gae Aulenti in 1965, then manufactured and still in production by Martinelli Luce.
It is a table lamp characterized by the elusive shape of the conical base that rises upward, widening into the diffuser's ribs, like the spread of bat wings.
The lamp is composed of an opal acrylic diffuser, a telescopic metal lamp body, and a white-painted metal base.
The light source is an adjustable LED via a switch on the power cord.

 Pipistrello è prodotta da Martinelli Luce da 50 anni ed è ancora oggi un'icona del design italiano.
La lampada Pipistrello è stata progettata da Gae Aulenti nel 1965, poi realizzata e tuttora in produzione da Martinelli Luce.
E´ una lampada da tavolo caratterizzata dalla forma sfuggente della base conica che si sviluppa verso l´alto allargandosi nelle nervature del diffusore, come lo spiegarsi delle ali di un pipistrello. 
La lampada è composta dal diffusore in metacrilato opalino, da un corpo lampada telescopico in metallo e da una base in metallo verniciato bianco.
La fonte luminosa è Led regolabile tramite interruttore posto sul cavo di alimentazione.
Oggi  Pipistrello è esposta al MOMA DI NEW YORK
