Description from the seller
Elegant Christofle house vase, with a flattened low body and a long narrow neck. The bronze is covered with a beautiful antique green patina, nuanced with brown reflections, which highlights a gilded decoration of motifs inspired by the Orient.
The neck is adorned with vertical bands featuring stylized botanical motifs, bordered at the top by a zigzag frieze. On the shoulder, a frieze of volutes transitions to the body, ornamented all around with clouds, ruyi and floral arabesques. The ensemble evokes a journey among bronzes of the Far East and the Middle East, revisited with the refinement of French decorative arts of the 1920s.
Christofle hallmark under the base, with model number. A piece of dinanderie made circa 1920. Probable collaboration with Auguste Delaherche or Luc Lanel.
Dimensions: height 15.5 cm, diameter 12 cm
Condition: good, original patina. Light knocks with depressions and minor signs of wear, visible in the photos.
