Original Art Nouveau sculpture “Water Carrier” – G. V. Vaerenbergh, circa 1900.
Description:
For sale: a beautiful, authentic Art Nouveau sculpture depicting a young woman with a pitcher. The designer is the renowned Belgian sculptor Gustave Van Vaerenbergh (1873–1927).
The sculpture dates from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Made of patinated plaster, masterfully imitating bronze. On the back of the figure is a clear, original artist's signature: G. V. Vaerenbergh. On the base are impressed markings “101 DÉPOSÉ” (registered catalog number of the design).
• Height: 33 cm
• Condition: Good, as shown in the photos. The sculpture has a natural patina and small, atmospheric wear and chipping of the paint along the edges of the base, which emphasizes its age and historical character.
A rare collectible item and stylish interior decoration.
