Description from the seller
Beautiful vintage side table/ashtray table in the style of the Amsterdam School, presumably dating from circa 1920–1930.
The little table features a characteristic wooden base with beautifully shaped, decorative legs and a second circular wooden shelf. The standout piece is the richly adorned round brass/copper top, equipped with a very detailed geometric and floral ornamentation.
The top has a nicely worn patina, which makes the relief and the fine decoration come into their own. The combination of warm wood, dark metal and expressive ornamentation is very characteristic of the decorative character of the Amsterdam School.
A particularly decorative piece of furniture that can be used as a side table, ashtray table or plant stand.
Period: circa 1920–1930
Style: Amsterdam School / early Art Deco
Material: wood and decorated brass/copper
Condition: good vintage/antique condition, with appropriate signs of use including rings and small cracks in the wood and patina.
Details:
richly decorated metal top
finely worked wooden legs
second wooden tray
authentic lived-in look
very decorative and characterful specimen
A beautiful piece for lovers of the Amsterdam School, Dutch interior history and vintage design.
Shipping will be insured. Pickup is also possible.
