Original enamel advertising sign for the French oil and lubricants brand Kervoline, dating from the 1940s, measuring 122 x 60 x 5 cm and weighing 15 kg, in good used condition with small signs of age and imperfections.
Description from the seller
Antique enameled advertising sign from the French oil and lubricant brand Kervoline.
Kervoline was a well-known French firm during the 20th century (mainly in the 1920s to 1950s) for its motor oils for automobiles (Huiles Kervoline).
In the central area the name KERVOLINE stands out, printed in thick white letters, diagonally crossing over a red pennant or arrow. Down to the right you can read the French phrase "EN VENTE ICI" (For sale here), which indicates that it was used to mark workshops, garages, or gas stations where the product was distributed.
In the upper left corner one can see its distinctive shield emblem in blue, white, and red, topped with three circles or spheres at the top.
It is an original period sign made of enameled or porcelain-coated sheet metal. The passage of time is evident due to enamel chipping, peripheral rust, and rust spots on the letters, features highly valued by automobilia and industrial antiques collectors.
It is very large, measuring 122 x 60 cm.
