SIGNED; Dino Pedriali - Pier Paolo Pasolini - 2011

Exceptional signed edition in three colors on the title page by Dino Pedriali (1950 - 2021), unique and unobtainable on the Internet even in unsigned copies (do not confuse with the 2022 reprint). This volume pays photographic tribute to the poet, novelist and filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini (1922-1975), whose birth centenary was celebrated in 2022. 128 pages and 78 full-page black-and-white photographs, either full-page or double-page. Sturdy publisher’s hardback binding illustrated on the cover and on the back cover. In excellent condition, practically like new.

Dino Pedriali is considered the Caravaggio of photography and has published various books on male nudes as well as photographic homage volumes to Man Ray and especially Andy Warhol.

Here he photographs Pier Paolo Pasolini in 1975, a few days before his death, in the house he had built in Chia near Viterbo and Bomarzo; inside the house and also from outside through the glass, which gives a pictorialist aspect to some of the photographs. Pasolini was then 53 years old and had asked the young Dino Pedriali, who was only 25, to photograph him naked to accompany by these images the text of a novel he was then writing. We also see Pasolini at the typewriter (personal computers did not exist at the time) or in his activity of manuscript proofreading and correction or again in the act of drawing on large sheets spread on the floor.

The photographs of Pier Paolo Pasolini nude by Dino Pedriali were also published in Amsterdam in 1989 under the title “Pier Paolo Pasolini, Testamento del Corpo” (Testament of the Body), which is listed without Le Livre de nus d’Alessandro Bertolotti p. 240.
