Description from the seller

ÉCUEIL — Naufrage Collection

Bressolles Louis — Artist-Designer

Born in Arcachon, Louis Bressolles draws his inspiration from the marine world, tales of piracy and forgotten treasures. He transforms recycled materials and collected elements into unique pieces, like fragments of stories rediscovered.

With Écueil, he imagines a mirror rescued from a ship that disappeared into the depths. Formerly the captain's cabin mirror, it would have traversed the years swallowed by the ocean, until becoming the vestige of an underwater reef.

Rocks, shells, coral and patinated materials seem to have embedded themselves on its surface, giving the work the appearance of an archaeological treasure brought up from the seabed. A piece at once raw, mysterious and sculptural, that brings a true decorative presence to the interior.

An original and timeless work, conceived as a fragment of wreck that has traversed time.
