Description from the seller
Elegant solid silver 800 flower vase, a work of the historic silversmiths Fratelli Cacchione Milano — hallmark 39 MI, active from 1935 to 2010 and supplier to important Milanese houses. The vase, dateable to the 1960s–1970s, weighs 613 grams verified on a scale (see Photo02).
Model with a slender ovoid body, undulating rim (Photo03) and rich decoration in rocaille, volutes and floral motifs entirely hand-engraved. The technique is traditional of the Milanese school: lost-wax casting, repoussé and punch engraving. The engraving is deep and precise, well preserved, as visible in details Photo04 and Photo05. Beaded base and slightly flared foot.
Stamps: 800 mark with star and 39 MI clearly impressed on the bottom, attributable with certainty to Fratelli Cacchione, Milano — macro photo in Photo06. No internal gilding, internal silver with patina of use coherent.
Condition: excellent. No dents, no soldering, no restorations. Slight patina of silver not recently polished, which enhances the engraving. Ready for display case or collection.
