Two original Cassina LC2 lounge chairs by Le Corbusier, Italy‑made in the mid‑1960s, with celestial blue lacquered tubular steel frames and blue cotton cushions, dimensions 76 cm W × 70 cm D × 67 cm H.
Description from the seller
Rare original Cassina LC2 armchairs set (1965-1968) – Celeste Lacquered Frame –
Description:
Exceptional collectible pieces: original Cassina LC2 armchairs, featuring a very rare and refined color configuration. The tubular metal frame bears the original Celeste/Light Blue finish from the official Le Corbusier palette, enriched by a light and charming patina of time with small signs of wear evidencing their historical authenticity.
The frames bear engraved serial numbers 3173 and 3176, highlighting a very low four-digit serial number dating back to Cassina’s early production years in 1965.
The lot is accompanied by its rare original-era authenticity certificate on a white rectangular cardboard, a fundamental document and almost impossible to find intact.
The cushions are original Cassina in their midnight blue fabric, well preserved, free of stains or halos, with normal signs of wear on the piping.
The fillings use polyurethane foam cores with wadding flakes (a configuration that preserves the perfect geometric and orthogonal line of the cushions).
The armchairs retain the classic original base with springs covered in rubber from Cassina’s early productions. It should be noted that on one of the two chairs one spring has been replaced with a strap of current production.
The photos are part of the product description. Some images have had the background removed.
Classic dimensions: 76 cm (Width) x 70 cm (Depth) x 67 cm (Height)
I will take care to carefully pack the two armchairs before shipping.
