Description from the seller
IN RISALTO:
• Opel Speedster 2.2 16V (VX220) from 2002 in the desirable Giallo Anodizzato color
• Only 102,911 original km and provenance from a non-smoking family
• Built on a Lotus-inspired extruded aluminum chassis with a weight under 900 kg
• Dual roof configuration included: Hard Top freshly painted in body color and original black Soft Top
• Two sets of wheels: light Motec wheels homologated on the registration and Opel original wheels included
• Infotainment upgrade with Pioneer DAB+ radio and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto integration
STORIA/PANORAMICA:
The Opel Speedster (marketed as Vauxhall VX220 in the United Kingdom), produced between 2000 and 2005 in collaboration with Lotus at the Hethel plant, represents one of the most purist spider stables of the 2000s. Developed on the Lotus Elise Series 2 extruded and bonded aluminum frame, the Speedster combines an ultra-light structure with pure and essential driving dynamics.
This 2002 example is powered by the 2.2-liter 16V Ecotec engine rated at 147 HP (144 HP on the nominal range) paired with the manual gearbox, capable of offering brisk performance thanks to a total weight under 900 kg. The car was new in Switzerland, has covered 102,911 original km, has always been garaged, and comes from a non-smoking family. It is provided with two original keys, owner’s manual, service booklet, and the infotainment tech upgrade. The vehicle is currently located in Busto Arsizio (Italy).
BODYWORK/Paint:
The body is in good used condition in the original Opel yellow color. To ensure a uniform and flawless finish, the front bumper and the hard top have been freshly repainted in the body color. The Soft Top in black canvas is included as well. The car includes a dual wheel set: a set of lightweight Motec wheels currently mounted and regularly documented on the registration, plus the original Opel wheels included in the sale.
INTERIOR:
The cockpit, with its minimalist sporty character, is in good overall condition. The upholstery, dashboard, and aluminum tub are well maintained and free of unpleasant odors. A modern upgrade to the sound system has been made with a Pioneer radio featuring DAB+ reception and Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connectivity.
MECHANICS:
The 2.2-litre 4-cylinder Ecotec engine with manual gearbox is in good order and ready to use, delivering a responsive performance and sharp handling. The mechanicals and chassis are efficient.
DOCUMENTS:
The car currently has Swiss registration documents ready for transfer to the new owner. If additional export documents are required, the seller can provide export plates and the related paperwork (costs borne by the buyer).
The car is located at the storage facility in Busto Arsizio, Italy.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
