Set of eight Art Nouveau glass items by Vallérysthal & Portieux, France, comprising two large wine-leaf shaped plates (24 x 21 cm, about 512 and 477 g) and six small amuse-bordjes (13 x 12.5 cm, 118–135 g each), dating to circa 1900–1910, in good used condition with minor age-related signs and one small black spot in one large plate, total weight 1.725 kg.
Description from the seller
Set of 2 rare dinner plates (approx. 2.5 cm high, 24 x 21 cm wide; 512 and 477 g heavy) and 6 amuse-bowls (approx. 0.5 cm high, 13 x 12.5 cm wide; weighing between 118 and 135 g) in the shape of wine leaves, as they were in fashion in French and Belgian glassworks around 1900. The total set weighs 1.725 kg. These plates are listed in the Vallérysthal & Portieux catalog from 1907. The plates and bowls are in very good condition with no damage (one small plate deviates slightly – probably produced a bit earlier than the others, with the design even crisper and slightly more concave), but this is not noticeable when they are together on a table. The pieces show the typical characteristics of antique glass: occasional air bubbles or glass strands and small irregularities in shape and weight. One of the large plates has a small production fault: a small black spot in the glass (see photo).
All carefully packed and shipped insured.
