Description from the seller

Ancient manuscript Quran – 4 simple leaves, recto-verso – 8 handwritten pages
Originating from a Quran on detached leaves.
17 cm × 12 cm.
Probable period: second half of the 17th century, 1st half of the 19th century.
Circa 1750–1850..
4 single recto-verso leaves, i.e., 8 handwritten pages, coming from the same old Arabic Qur’anic manuscript preserved as detached leaves.
The set comes from a portion of a Quran (juzʾ) and includes several identifiable surahs.
The Qur’anic text is copied in Arabic in a large, regular and highly legible calligraphy in black ink, richly vocalized and punctuated with auxiliary marks. Titles and information relating to the surahs are rubricated in red-orange ink, as are certain reading and separation signs. The written surface is bounded by a multi-ruled, polychrome manuscript frame, mainly red-orange and black, with occasional blue-green ruling.
Decorative changes of surahs are particularly ornate, their title, traditional classification and number of verses may be written in red before the basmala, بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The leaves were contained in a binding-type folder added after the leaves, with an old catalog card in Arabic that allows documenting their identification and chronological attribution.
It bears in particular:
اسم الكتاب : جزء من القرآن الكريم
Ism al-kitāb: Juzʾ min al-Qurʾān al-Karīm
A portion of the Noble Qur’an.
The field reserved for the scribe’s name (اسم الكاتب) is not filled.
The card then indicates,
تاريخ الكتابة : القرن العاشر الهجري
Tārīkh al-kitāba: al-qarn al-ʿāshir al-hijrī
Date of copying: 10th century AH.

Set of 4 handwritten recto-verso leaves, i.e., 8 pages, from an Arabic manuscript Qur’an.
Beautiful Naskh calligraphy in black ink, with vocalization marks and recital signs in red. The text arranged within a double frame of red and black borders, with a few marginal annotations. Some leaves show surah titles and verse counts in red.
The passages belong notably to Surahs 72 Al-Jinn (The Jinn), 73 Al-Muzzammil (The Enwrapped), and 74 Al-Muddaththir (The Cloaked). Thus, this is a collection from the final part of the Qur’an.
