AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
MINOLTA SR-7 + MC Rokkor-PF 55mm F1.7, tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Minolta SR-7 (1962) was one of the first 35mm SLRs with a built-in CdS exposure meter, mounted on the side of the body and coupled to the shutter-speed dial — a landmark step before through-the-lens metering became standard. Fully mechanical and solidly built, it uses the Minolta SR bayonet and is offered here with the MC Rokkor-PF 55mm f/1.7 standard lens.
Important — please read carefully:
The built-in exposure meter reads about 2 stops over. Please review the description before bidding.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned, heavy signs of use, or minor optical flaws
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Lens: Clear, no issues
Viewfinder: Some dust inside
Functional
The shutter works (1/1000 measured about 1/425, slightly slow).
Light seals replaced.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/0.9 s (approx. 0.2 stop slow)
- 1/60 — measured 1/50 s (approx. 0.3 stop slow)
- 1/1000 — measured 1/425 s (approx. 1.2 stop slow)
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 2.2 OVER / EV15: 2.0 OVER
Some of these deviations exceed what negative film can absorb — please read the Known Issues section and allow for them when shooting.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Light seals (foam) replaced
Known Issues
1. The built-in meter reads about 2 stops over (EV12 +2.2 / EV15 +2.0); a separate meter or manual adjustment is recommended.
Bundled Items
Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package.
Important Notes for Used Items
As this is a used item, subtle imperfections may exist that are not individually described.
