aldo tura - Lamp (907) - Parchment, Resin - Rare Aldo Tura Lantern

An elegant and highly distinctive lantern-form table lamp by celebrated Italian designer Aldo Tura (1909–1963).

The lamp showcases Tura’s characteristic experimentation with luxurious and unconventional materials, combining a lacquered parchment/resin body with glass panels and refined brass details. Its architectural lantern silhouette is particularly representative of Tura’s early decorative lighting designs.

The compact proportions and sculptural geometric construction make this an exceptional decorative object as well as a fully functional light.

The underside retains its original TURA manufacturer’s label, with the number 907 visible on the label.

The lamp remains fully functional and retains its original vintage character.

A particularly interesting feature of this example is its authentic period finish, with the surface displaying the subtle variations and patina associated with hand-finished Italian design objects of the period.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire an original Aldo Tura lamp dating from the early 1950s, rather than a later reproduction.

The lamp has been carefully preserved and remains in very good overall condition considering its age.

There is one small, shallow hairline split in the upper lacquered/resin finish. The mark appears superficial and limited to the finishing layer rather than representing a structural break in the body.

This minor imperfection is consistent with the natural ageing of the original lacquered finish and is clearly documented in the photographs.

The glass panels are present and intact.

The electrical system is functional.

No restoration has been carried out to the lacquered surface, preserving the originality of the piece.
