Pair of decorative wall mirrors from Spain, in a Neobaroque-inspired antique style with gilded resin frames, each measuring 28 × 19 × 1 cm and weighing about 500 g, in good used condition with signs of wear and imperfections, one retaining the original Cristmol label on the back; sold as a pair.
Description from the seller
Pair of decorative wall mirrors commercially linked to Cristmol, a firm specializing in crystals, moldings, frames and mirrors from Santander. One of the pieces retains the original house label on the reverse.
Probably made during the last quarter of the 20th century. They feature historicist frames in a neobaroque style, fashioned in molded composite material — possibly synthetic resin with mineral filler — and finished with gold metallic paint with a dark patina.
The decoration is arranged symmetrically with small lateral columns, volutes, acanthus leaves and other botanical motifs. The crest features a central anthropomorphic mask, surrounded by opposing volutes and topped by a vertical rosette. The lower area incorporates vegetal ornamentation, a central inverted motif, and small vertical finials.
Dimensions of each piece: 28 × 19 × 1 cm.
Visible reflective surface: 15 × 10.6 cm.
Approximate weight: 500 g per unit.
Condition: fair, in keeping with age and use. Both frames show wear, surface dirt and occasional loss of the gold finish. One lacks an inferior vertical finial. One of the panes shows aging and loss of the silvering, veils, dark spots and an elongated scratch. The backs show abrasions and loss of the coating, but retain their back boards and metal suspension systems.
They are sold together. The photographs are an essential part of the description and allow a detailed view of their condition.
