Binoculars - Theatis 3×15 – “aus JENA” M exportversie - 1980-1990 - Germany - Carl Zeiss Jena

Beautiful compact Theatis 3.5×15 opera binoculars in excellent condition, with virtually no signs of use. Includes the accompanying pouch.

This specimen bears the “aus JENA” marking, an export version that during the Cold War was used for certain Western markets due to the dispute over the Carl Zeiss trademark name. Because this specific export line was produced in far fewer numbers than the standard version, this model is considerably rarer on the current market.

Technically and optically it is the same Carl Zeiss Jena Theatis 3.5×15 as the specimens that bear the full name Carl Zeiss Jena / Theatis.
