Amelia Mary Earhard, born in 1897, Kansas, has already given an adventurous expression as a child. She later became the first female pilot ever to cross the Atlantic Ocean. Amelia over the course of her career boldly questioned conventions again and again, and she fallows and set records for women in aviation. She felt that their achievements would show that men and women can be equal at work.
In 1937, when she was the first woman to fly around the world alone in a record flight, Amelia Earhard and her plane disappeared without a trace. With the Barbie Inspiring Women "Amelia Earhart" doll celebrates the groundbreaking achievements, heroism and long-lasting experiences that Amelia Earhard has performed for both aviation and women.
