Description from the seller
This is a classic entry-level pattern from the Meissen "Large Cut" (Großer Ausschnitt) series—known as "Ink-Wash Orchid" or "Orchid on the Branch"—and stands as a masterpiece of Meissen blue-and-white porcelain. Orchids and gnarled branches are depicted using the expressive, freehand brushwork characteristic of traditional Chinese ink-wash painting; the blue-and-white design seamlessly blends the artistic spirit of Eastern literati painting with Europe's finest hard-paste porcelain, featuring fluid blue washes and exquisitely detailed layering in the branches and blossoms. Both the cup and saucer feature a distinctive wavy, petal-like rim and the soft, elegant contours of the "Large Cut" shape, bearing the iconic Meissen crossed-swords mark on the base.
Cup diameter: 6.5 cm; Cup height: 8 cm
Saucer diameter: 14 cm
Comes with an original dark blue brand gift box; suitable for personal collection, daily use, or gifting, this piece is a popular entry-level item highly cherished by porcelain enthusiasts.
