Description from the seller
An evocative Italian Light Design piece by RCL Design, a brand of Italian local craftsmanship specializing in decorative objects and lighting from the second half of the 20th century.
The pieces from this label, less commercial than the mass-market brands, are today particularly sought after by collectors for their rarity and original design ingenuity.
The object stands out for its cage-like geometric structure, composed of curved metal slats lacquered white that shape a sinuous, rounded silhouette. The form clearly draws on the organic, familiar lines of a classic teapot, here emptied and reinterpreted in a minimalist, pop key.
As visible in the detailed images, the lamp preserves on its body the sticker with the original RCL Design graphic mark printed in red. This model is battery-powered (wireless), an avant-garde design solution that preserves the purity of the lines and eliminates the visual impact of electrical cables. Inside it houses an LED bulb with micro-filaments that diffuses a warm, intimate light with very low energy consumption.
Manufacturer: RCL Design
Estimated period: Second half of the 20th century (~70s/80s)
Origin: Italy
Brand: Present (original sticker RCL Design with red logo)
Materials: Lacquered metal, base in insulating thermoplastic material
Conditions: Excellent aesthetic and functional condition, with slight and normal signs of aging consistent with the piece’s age and originality (refer to photos).
Thanks to the complete absence of wires, this RCL Design creation is a nomadic piece of furniture, ideal both for highlighting a corner of the living area and for use in protected outdoor spaces. Its perfect placement is at the center of the table during late-summer dinners. When temperatures become milder and the weather invites longer convivial outdoor moments, this lamp becomes the visual centerpiece of terraces, porches, or verandas. Placed among the glasses, its white grid framework projects a suggestive and hypnotic radial play of light and shadow all around, 360 degrees. The result is a soft, relaxing, and sophisticated atmosphere that fixed lighting or wind-exposed candles cannot replicate. By day, even when off, its sculptural teapot-shaped silhouette decorates the space with a touch of elegant, ironic pop.
