Antique neoclassical alabaster column, Italian-made, dating from 1910–1920, 100 cm high with a square top and octagonal base, 26 cm wide and deep, weighing 24 kg, in good used condition with light signs of age and stains, titled Alabastro Fiorito.
Description from the seller
Stunning and important flowered alabaster column, or 'Breccia di Sciro', in warm tones ranging from cream-white to ocher yellow, with a dense network of dark, brown, gray and greenish veins, creating a strong visual contrast and a typical "flowered" effect. Compared to traditional marble, alabaster has a semi-transparency to light, which gives it a depth and a unique luster. The column's structure consists of a cylindrical shaft segmented by annular reliefs. The upper supporting surface is square with beveled corners, while the lower base rests on a solid octagonal structure. Decorative elements of this type are ideal for enhancing corners of living rooms or entrances by displaying sculptures, busts, or indoor plants, instantly giving the whole house a touch of class and antiquity.
