Vintage lot of 19 theatre binoculars with 9 cases, produced in Germany by Vari Produttori as type 10 theatre binoculars, tested and functioning, dimensions 14 × 7 × 4 cm.
Description from the seller
Fascinating and varied lot consisting of 10 vintage theater binoculars and 9 Cases. This diverse collection offers an excellent snapshot of the design and optical solutions adopted for theater accessories in the postwar period.
The lot includes several types of theater binoculars, among which stand out for the variety of shapes and colors:
Folding Models: A refined selection of ultra-flat-design binoculars, engineered to minimize bulk and to be conveniently tucked into a pocket or elegant evening bags. Among these you’ll find brands such as ROW Rathenow (model "Theastar") with a lively red and black finish and other compact models with zippered-shaped cases. The lot also includes binoculars of a more classic form but extremely compact in size, such as the midnight blue model branded Hertelt Reuss Optik Kassel, a vivid red Lenta 3x28, a compact Beck Kassel "Rubin" 3x, and a delightful ivory-and-brass-finished model with an older flavor.
The pieces are notable for a wide color palette (red, blue, green, brown, ivory, and black) and for the use of different finishes, from the classic glossy lacquers to chrome-plated or bright gold metal inlays. Also notable is the model marked G. Rodenstock München with clean, elegant lines.
The binoculars present themselves in generally good vintage aesthetic condition, with normal signs of use and aging that attest to their authenticity. The photos are an integral part of the Item Description. Please examine them to notice imperfections, signs of wear, and a red case with a defective clasp."}
