Desert rose (stromatolite) fossil imprint on a clear display stand from Morocco; one object, weight 1375 g, dimensions 10.5 cm high by 10.5 cm wide by 10 cm deep, in natural condition.
Description from the seller
Large Concentric Fossil Imprint – Remarkable Natural Spiral Formation
An impressive fossil imprint distinguished by its extraordinary concentric structure, forming a beautifully preserved series of circular ridges that resemble the petals of a giant rose.
The specimen features a remarkable succession of raised, irregular rings, gradually expanding from a tightly coiled central formation toward the outer edges. Each layer displays a finely textured, granular surface, creating fascinating variations in depth and relief.
Its natural coloration combines warm sandy beige, soft terracotta, pale ochre, and subtle reddish-brown tones, enhancing the contrast between the different concentric structures.
Particularly attractive is the exceptional three-dimensional appearance of the formation. Viewed from above, the fossil reveals an almost perfectly organized spiral composition, while the sides display a thick, rugged structure with natural cavities, weathered surfaces, and irregular contours.
The specimen has been preserved in its natural condition, retaining the authentic textures and details of the original formation. Its distinctive morphology gives it a strong sculptural presence, reminiscent of an ancient organic structure captured in stone.
Presented on the clear acrylic display stand shown in the photographs, this large specimen is particularly suitable for natural history collections, fossil enthusiasts, or a sophisticated cabinet of curiosities.
A fascinating example of natural fossil preservation, combining unusual geometry, remarkable surface texture, and exceptional decorative appeal.
