Description from the seller

Elegant dinner service for 6 people produced by the historic Italian Ceramic Society of Laveno, one of the most prestigious Italian porcelain and ceramics manufacturers of the twentieth century, which merged in the sixties into the Richard Ginori group. This service in particular was made around the time of the merger between the two great leaders of Italian ceramics, as evidence of the model that closely follows the famous "Antico Doccia" by Richard Ginori.

The Antico Doccia shape defines the deepest essence, identifying the Richard Ginori manufactory in the world as a Maison of excellence of pure porcelain and design. Curved lines and a profile inspired by late-Baroque Florentine silverware make Antico Doccia a timeless collection. This service is produced by the Laveno Manufactory with the same characteristics as the Richard Ginori Antico Doccia model, but in cream-colored porcelain. Moreover, each piece is enriched with a delicate gold fillet along the rim profile of the plates.

The design, free of figurative decorations and characterized by the purity of the forms, lends itself particularly well to a classic, elegant and contemporary table, where the quality of the porcelain and the edge craftsmanship become the distinguishing elements.

The set consists of 6 flat plates with a diameter of 25 cm.

Excellent overall condition.

Seller's Story

My name is Riccardo. I recently graduated in Art History from the University of Florence and I am passionate about porcelain. From tableware to artistic vases, from figurines to tea and coffee sets, I am fascinated by the mastery and creativity of great artisans and designers who manage to shape this fragile material, transforming a rough mass into masterpieces with a story to tell. During my years at university I began to become interested in the history of nineteenth- and twentieth-century tableware; today, every day, I deal with prestigious porcelain pieces that always have something to say to me and to those who purchase them. I love that every day I can discover more about the objects I find while traveling around Italy, always learning something new. I always try to convey to my clients this passion I have for the objects I sell, certain that each of them has a story to tell: that of the creator, that of the one who preserved it, and that of the person who will give it a new life.
