Description from the seller
Ferrari Daytona Spyder - (official name Ferrari 365 GTS/4) - 1969
From 1969 to 1973 this Italian Cabriolet Grand Tourer was produced. It is the open version of the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 "Daytona".
The Daytona Spyder debuted in 1968 at the Paris Motor Show. The prototype (chassis 12851) was shown in 1969 at the IAA in Frankfurt with plexiglass headlamps. It was one of the most memorable interpretations of the Italian open sports car concept. In total, 122 units were built, of which 96 for the US market and only 26 for Europe.
This makes this Spyder extremely rare. The nickname "Daytona" arose after Ferrari's victory in the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1967 with the 330 P4.
The designers Pininfarina / Scaglietti placed the advanced 4.4-liter Tipo 251 Colombo V12 engine in a body of rare beauty, making it the benchmark in the high-performance luxury sports car segment.
The Daytona Spyder is regarded as one of the most coveted classic Ferraris of all time. Well-preserved examples regularly fetch prices between 2.5 and 4 million euros at auctions. The combination of rarity, timeless design, and a powerful V12 makes the model an icon of the 1970s and 1980s. It was Ferrari's last front-engine V12 two-seater before the move to mid-engine models such as the Boxer.
Therefore the Daytona naturally belongs in your Ferrari collection.
