Description from the seller

Double-sided silver reliquary pendant with multiple relics – 18th century

Old reliquary pendant, probably from the 18th century, keeping under glass a composition of numerous relics, accompanied by their old handwritten tituli and arranged in a decor of paperolles and fine metal threads wound around a central small figure of the Virgin.

No human remains

On the reverse, an old devotional image painted represents a tonured saint, probably Franciscan, possibly Saint Anthony of Padua. The ancient condition of the image does not allow a definite identification.

Silver mount, adorned with a festooned border and a twisted decor around the perimeter. Suspension bail.

Ageing with patina, wear and alterations of the papers in line with the age of the object.
Apparently very old, preserved without restoration.

The photos are an integral part of the description of the objects and complement their presentation. Please examine them carefully before any engagement.

The item will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking number, to ensure fast and secure delivery.

Happy bidding

In accordance with canon law (can. 1190 §1), this sale concerns only the reliquary as a sacred art object. The relics it contains are not the subject of the transaction, but are included gratuitously for their historical and cultural value.
