Description from the seller
Pendant reliquary of the Most Holy Crown of Thorns
Precious metal pendant reliquary dating from the first half of the 19th century, containing inside a fragment of the Crown of Thorns of Our Lord Jesus Christ during His Passion.
On the back is placed its own seal in Episcopal wax.
Ex Spinea D.N.J.C. (Domini Nostri Jesu Christi):
This small fragment of immense spiritual value is attributed to the Crown of Thorns placed on Jesus' head during His Passion. Each fragment of the Thorn bears witness to Christ's suffering and sacrifice for the salvation of humanity. Preserved with devotion through the centuries, they have traveled through sanctuaries, churches and monasteries, becoming objects of veneration throughout Europe.
The cult of the Crown of Jesus reflects the deep Christian spirituality in remembrance of His sacrifice, making the faithful feel close to the mystery of redemption.
The relic is particularly venerated during Good Friday and the Holy Week processions, moments in which sacred history and popular devotion intertwine, with manifestations that involve the whole world.
Beyond its religious value, the Thorn represents a tangible link to the historical events of the Passion, embodying a symbol of faith that has crossed centuries and cultures.
