Description from the seller

Jammet-Seignolles Limoges – Pair of hand-decorated porcelain covered boxes – France – ca. 1960-1980

An elegant pair of fine French Limoges porcelain covered boxes, produced by the renowned Jammet-Seignolles porcelain factory in Limoges, France.

Both boxes are beautifully finished with rich hand-applied gilding and display the exceptional quality for which Limoges porcelain is internationally renowned. Originally intended as luxury dresser or trinket boxes, they are equally suitable for storing jewellery, small keepsakes, bonbons or other precious objects while serving as refined decorative pieces.

The first box is decorated in a soft old-rose colour with an elaborate hand-painted floral bouquet featuring roses and wild flowers. The decoration is signed by the porcelain artist, while the underside bears the mark "Jammet-Seignolles Limoges France – Rehaussé Main", indicating that the gilded decoration has been finished entirely by hand.

The second box features an elegant white porcelain body enhanced with finely executed gilt laurel wreaths surrounding a classical Napoleonic eagle, inspired by the French Empire style. The underside bears the mark "Jammet-Seignolles Limoges France – Exclusivité", referring to one of the factory's exclusive decorative collections.

Both pieces have scalloped rims with luxurious burnished gold borders, giving them an elegant and timeless appearance.
