Italian half-20th-century centre table in carved and gilded wood with fossiliferous pink marble, in a Louis XVI Revival style, dating from around 1930, made in Italy and measuring 43 cm deep, 84 cm wide and 52 cm high.

Italian carved and gilded center table with fossiliferous marble - circa 1930.
Elegant rectangular coffee table inspired by Louis XVI, executed in carved, pierced and gilded wood, presenting an elaborately waist decorated with symmetrical volutes, vegetal motifs, acanthus leaves and a lower frieze of stylized leaves.
Corners are marked by square recesses with engraved floral motifs. It rests on four straight, turned and fluted legs, with acanthus leaf capitals and lower ends in the shape of a button or stylized pinecone.
Thick and removable top in fossiliferous pink limestone marble, possibly Rosso Verona or Ammonitico Rosso, with numerous circular fossil traces in cream and beige tones. It features a protruding, moulded and polished edge.
Internal construction, with the top removed, reveals a solid rectangular frame prepared to support the heavy stone slab.
