Description from the seller
Pair of wall sconces in gilded bronze in Louis XVI style, made during the first half of the twentieth century, inspired by the decorative repertoires of French Neoclassicism from the late eighteenth century. Each piece features a sober, balanced structure, articulated by a mural body with a faceted profile and topped by a small upper cap crowned by a delicate motif in the shape of a bow, one of the most characteristic ornamental elements of Louis XVI taste.
From the main body emerges a curved arm of light with an elegant movement, ending in a lamp holder with a circular washer that evokes the antique candelabra. The composition is completed with a lower finial in the form of a stylized pinecone or pinjante, decorative resource associated with the ideals of symmetry and refinement inherent in neoclassical language. The surfaces, with restrained ornamentation, stand out for the quality of modeling and for the warm golden hue of the bronze, enriched by a patina acquired over time that adds depth and authenticity to the whole.
These luminaires combine the timeless elegance of eighteenth-century French models with the solidity of decorative manufactories from the first half of the twentieth century, resulting in versatile and distinguished pieces, ideal for highlighting living rooms, hallways, bedrooms, or classic environments where one seeks decorative lighting with palatial inspiration.
Insured shipping and careful packaging.
