Wittmann Austria - Sebastian Herkner - Chair (2) - Morton - Velvet fabric

The MORTON chair was designed in 2022 by Sebastian Herkner for Wittmann.

This piece is a statement—a deft blend of an elegant upholstered chair and an armchair that works at the dining table as well as in the lounge.

A distinctive feature of the lightweight chair is the precisely drawn, two-part back cushioning that softly embraces the body. The subtly springy backrest pleasantly moves with the sitter's movements. In the seat cushion lies the Wittmann-typical pocket spring core, which ensures the unique seating comfort.

The velvety upholstery in a vivid orange-red emphasizes the design's distinctive character.

Herkner loves playing with a variety of materials and often focuses on subtle details, such as the cross grooves in the chair base. The know-how of Wittmann Möbelwerkstätten enables the designer to work out shapes very intuitively and to articulate precise seam lines.

The dark brown leather piping provides an excellent contrast to the orange-red fabric.

The chair frame is made of open-pored black-lacquered ash wood.

Both chairs are 82 cm high, 57 cm wide and 62 cm deep. The seat height is 49 cm.

They are used but in good condition with only minimal signs of wear.
