Victorian bracket in carved mahogany with acanthus leaves - 19th century.
English bracket or wall shelf, made of mahogany wood. It features a semicircular top with a slightly notched front, bounded by a frieze carved with overlapping leaves. The central support, architecturally styled, is deeply carved with acanthus leaves, turned moldings, and a lower knop finial. The quality of the carving and the overall design are characteristic of English brackets from the Victorian period.
Reverse side is smooth, with two metal rings for hanging, possibly added later.
