Description from the seller
An expressive wall sculpture (bust) of a Pierrot or clown figure. The head is turned slightly to the left and has a serene, somewhat melancholic facial expression. The face is surrounded by a wide, undulating collar with deep folds.
The sculpture has a clearly vintage or retro look. Thanks to the neutral plaster finish, it fits well in both a classic and an eclectic/bohemian interior.
The back is completely flatly finished, allowing it to be mounted flush against a wall. There is a sturdy, cast metal hanging hook or strip present, enabling the sculpture to be hung securely.
At the lower edge of the collar there is an incised maker's mark or monogram d & e with a copyright symbol, indicating a registered design from a professional workshop or foundry.
Condition: The object is in nice vintage condition with an authentic patina. The plaster shows light, characteristic signs of aging and subtle color differences (cream/off-white with soft discolorations in the deeper folds), which contribute to its well-worn character.
