Faience ewer from Nürnberg, Germany, dating to circa 1750–1800, by Kordenbusch Pottery Workshop; blue hand-painted birds and stylised floral motifs, pewter‑lidded mouth, height 30 cm, base diameter 9.5 cm, weight 1.02 kg, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
This lot features an faience ewer created around the second half of 18th century in a german pottery workshop from Nürnberg. Decorated in abundance with blue handpainted birds and stylised floral motifs, the jug raises from a robust foot consolidated with tin, wich elegantly sustains the middle part designed in parallel curved linear paterns suggesting the rotation movement. Ending by an pewter lidded mouth with a peak, that has its circumference ornated in intersected lines on a neck wich is gracefully connected to a twist handle. Signature under the base "K." can be attributed to Georg Friedrich Kordenbusch, wich had an active ceramics workshop in Nurnberg from 1741 to 1763 (see last pictures). Condition of the item is remarkably good, presenting no damages or restorations, showing minimal signs of use. The detailed photos are part of the description and can be used as an accurate reference.
Dimensions: Height (with lid): 30cm, Base diameter - 9.5cm, Weight - 1.02kg.
